Description

My entry for Round 1 and 2 of Miss Doll Fantasy 2015. Frankly, halfway through round 1 my inspiration failed me. But I didn't want to give up so I ended up with a somewhat simple and plain entry. Round 2 was tricky because having gone baseless I had to shade skin. Eee! I did the best I could before I'd gone insane. I hate her feet with all my heart. I like how the overall look of the portrait came out since I sketched on paper first and then imported it to Photoshop- something I don't think I've done before.

Baseless can be a lot of fun- and rewarding- as long as there isn't much of skin involved. >>

Aww, Evy! I'm so proud of you, for continuing with your baseless endeavors! The 2nd addition to your MDF project, turned out quite lovely. It's obvious you put a lot of effort into your character's design, it shows! She looks quite ethereal, and soft, like a sea nymph from a fairytale. :D I think her feet look fine, but I know how you feel about that part of the human anatomy, I too struggle, still to this day with feet, so I feel your pain. :P The portrait is without a doubt my favorite part of your entry, she looks so sweet and innocent. I noticed her freckles right away! Her crown is gorgeous! On a sidenote, you did an outstanding job, with continuity, the 2nd entry, matches the first one, perfectly. I know how tricky continuity can be, especially when you're working with the same character over and over.

Your last comment made me chuckle, I totally sympathize with you on the skin, takes a lot of time, to shade it doesn't it? So tedious! :shifty:
